According to recent monitoring data released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the COVID-19 infection rate across the country continued to rise from the 14th to the 18th week of 2025 (March 31st - May 4th). The positive rate in southern provinces was higher than that in the north, and the growth rate slowed down in some early-onset areas. The detection rate of COVID-19 in outpatient and emergency influenza-like cases increased from 7.5% to 16.2%, and that in hospitalized cases rose from 3.3% to 6.3%.
